When we first got into the lifestyle, there wasn’t much out there like there is today. There were only a few obscure podcasts and maybe some old tumblr websites that talked about the swing lifestyle. That’s why we started The Red Couch. We wanted to document our lifestyle journey to share with other couples curious about finding new ways to spice up their marriage and help them navigate the sometimes shady world of alt lifestyle.
To begin this read, you have to first read this one https://theredcouch.co/2021/02/14/review-club-discretions-swingers-club-phoenix-az/ to understand the context of this review of Hush. We had visited this club, previously known as Discretions, back in 2021 when we first relocated to Phoenix from Chicago. Needless to say, the club back then was…lacking.
We recently had the rare night out and decided to finally hit up the new club called Hush. Hush had taken over the old Discretions club and placed it under new management. We had heard great things so we were super excited to check this place out, hoping they could redeem themselves from the prior managements bad reputation. (It’s almost like everyone we talk to about Discretions had bad reviews to say.) We were excited to see what they did with the place and ready to get our freak on!

There isn’t much on the Hush AZ website except info on membership, events and dating profiles. But we did find this excerpt on their Google page:
“Hush Lounge AZ is a private, members-only lifestyle and adult lounge in Phoenix designed with women’s comfort, safety, and choice at the center. Our space offers a softly seductive, judgment-free environment where open-minded adults can socialize, flirt, and explore at their own pace—always with consent and clear boundaries. Hush is BYOB and features curated social nights, themed experiences, and grown-and-sexy vibes in an intentional, respectful setting. Couples, single women, and vetted single men are welcome. Speakeasy-style entrance. Follow the red lights. Anything is possible. Nothing is required.”
Rather than give you a complete play by play review about our visit to Hush like some other clubs we’ve reviewed, we will just give you the good, bad and ugly short list about our experience. This is in no way meant to bash any events or clubs in any way. God knows we need more unity in the lifestyle! It’s just a verified ticketed couple’s experience to share with other couples.
• We had been following Hush on Kasidie and other social profiles so it was easy to find them and register. A couples monthly recurring membership fee is $20. Cancel anytime. We opted for this since we don’t get out much and wouldn’t use a recurring membership. On top of the $20 membership purchase, our ticket for the event we attended turn out to be $80. I appreciate Hush keeping ticket prices reasonable. We also had to pay a “bartending fee” of $25 in order for them to basically keep our alcohol. Like really keep it. Hush won’t allow you to take back your bottle at the end of the night, so be sure to only bring what you’ll use. More on this later. Overall, registration was easy and all emails and communication were great. This club requires a real name to register as they take ID’s at the check in. Your ID must match the name on record to enter.

• Parking. They have a lot in the back that was closed when we got there. Instead they filled us up from the ally back. I recommend trying to park in the lot, not the ally. It was hard for us to squeeze out after we left at night.
• Shout out to the Hush security team. They did a great job welcoming us in, explaining the rules and keeping everyone safe. We always appreciate a good security presence at events, even just to know who to speak to if we need something.
• Check-in was smooth. They use the color band system which is always cool. I like to know who I’m dealing with when we approach them, so it’s nice that they have that. We paid our $25 “bartender fee” and they took our bottle. Hush basically has a “juice and snack” bar with soda, juice and mixers for purchase. Yes I said it, you have to purchase your own mixers! In our almost 10 years of being in the lifestyle, I’ve NEVER been to a party or club that wanted us to pay for mixers. The $25 is for them to pour our drinks and includes lemonade and cranberry as a mixer if we wanted. We didn’t – so we coughed up the $2-3 per ginger ale. It wasn’t much, but most venues include mixers in the entrance fee, and at $80 trying to be upscale, this was not giving upscale vibes.
• The venue is completely transformed! What was once the seedy, smelly Discretions is now a sexy, elegant, swanky lounge that my wife kept complimenting them all night long. The faux candles, the sexy murals and the drapery is worth the entrance fee alone. We could tell they have put A LOT of work into the aesthetics and it really showed they went all out. Everything was clean and no weird smells I could detect. The old Discretions, my wife told me flat out no to fucking there. Hush made her pussy wet! I think I counted at least 5-6 playrooms with different artistic themes. A couple rooms had a voyeur window to be able to be seen or could be closed if wanted. If you are a couple that has a exhibitionist streak, Hush is the place for you!

• Hush has a great, friendly crowd! We didn’t detect any cliques or people that were straight up rude. Everyone was approachable for the most part and able to hold a decent conversation. There were visitors from all over Arizona with plenty of diversity from black, brown and white couples. Even a few Asians. We went on a Saturday night and the crowd was mostly couples with the exception of a few single males or females floating around. We don’t attend these for singles, but it’s cool the couple ratio was poppin. They had a great turn out with at least over 30 couples there although I couldn’t count for sure.
• There was some confusion over the theme and advertising. On Kasidie the party was promoted as a “Sweet, Sinful, Upsidedown”

But their actual website promoted something totally different.

So the advertising said there would be a luxury pineapple Summer graze table. There was not. Instead there was a cupcake and Jello-shot table with cookies. No:
🧀 Artisan cheeses
🍍 Fresh pineapple + island-inspired fresh fruit
🍓 Seasonal berries and sweet tropical bites
🍯 Fruit preserves, jams, and honey pairings
🥖 Crackers, crisp breads, and grazing favorites
🌴 Pineapple & island-inspired munchies made for late-night snacking
🥂 The kind of table people gather around… and somehow never leave
Like the ad posted on Kasidie advertised. It’s possible they put out the “spread” after we left, but we left around 12 and did not see a graze table.
• The new dungeon is a nice added feature. Unfortunately it only opens at 11pm for some reason. If you’re an early bird, you’ll miss out on this awesome feature. They have everything you need back there from a gloryhole room, to a St. Andrews Cross and cages. If you’re into some BDSM flavor, you’ll love what they have to offer next door.
We are of the opinion that people should know what they are getting into when visiting a swingers club. Especially newbies. When we first started in the lifestyle, we didn’t know what to expect or where to even find like minded people to connect with. This led to lots of time wasted visiting parties and events that we just didn’t feel comfortable with. We wish that someone would have told us BEFORE hand what the swingers clubs were like.
As we were leaving my wife said she’d go back, but knowing what we know, we will be better prepared to have an even HOTTER time than we did. We put Hush Lounge AZ on our Red Couch recommend list. If you’re in the Phoenix area or passing through, consider getting signed up to attend a Saturday night party. You won’t regret it! But don’t take our word for it, you’ll have to find out yourself! Check out their upcoming events at their website https://hushloungeaz.com/.
