Another one of our long over due reviews on the Phoenix lifestyle scene. To be honest, since we’ve been in Phoenix, we haven’t had the opportunity to get to too many parties and events as frequent as we’d like to. However, there have been a handful of groups we’ve visited since we landed. We have known the owners of La Dolce Vita swingers club even prior to when they began. I think they were just toying around with the idea when we first met them at a Red Couch Newbie Meetup a few years back. It was no surprise to us that they launched La Dolce Vita. (The Sweet Life) They have bar none, been our favorite and must-visit lifestyle party in Phoenix. Since they began in Phoenix (North Scottsdale), La Dolce has branched out to Palm Springs and Denver as of the writing of this post, but I’m not 100% sure. This review is based on our overall experience with La Dolce Vita and their most recent Arizona Heat hotel takeover glow party event.
The website says this about La Dolce Vita: “La Dolce Vita beckons as your refuge from the ordinary, inviting you into a realm of mind-bending and tantalizing experiences. As an exclusive members club, we curate a series of distinctive, themed events across the Southwest USA. With food, music, connection and dance as our seductive tools, we craft an environment that transports you to a world of opulence and ultimate indulgence—all while ensuring your privacy is paramount.”
Like most swinger party groups, LDV has a easy to use, private website that you can sign up for to become a member. To attend LDV parties, you must be a member and the process is easy for you to sign up at their website. Membership is $99 for an annual membership, which is typical for groups like this that we’ve seen. The premium membership also gives you access to messaging and use the dating feature on the website filled with member couples profiles. Keep in mind this membership fee does not include the ticket cost to events and parties. We definitely recommend using this feature, especially if you plan to attend an event so you can chat up other couples before hand.
The venue that LDV took over was the Clarendon hotel in downtown Phoenix. The Clarendon Hotel and Spa is a luxurious 4-star property set in a prime location in the center of Phoenix. The hotel offers an outdoor swimming pool. Guests can also enjoy on site spa services, full-service health spa, and spa tub. The rooms were decent, the pool area was clean, well lit in sexy lighting and privately blacked out from street view. LDV also added several extra VIP cabana areas and a private group tent in the outdoor pool common area. If you didn’t have a room, you still were able to find plenty of seating and places to congregate with friends.
Instead of giving a complete play by play, we will just give you the things we liked and didn’t like in bulleted format:
- We were checked in and greeted at the front desk, given our bracelets and taken on a brief first level tour of the amenities. There were 3 additional play rooms that included a VIP room with snacks, drinks and eventually turned into a group room with more lounge space and beds. In another room there were two BDSM spanking benches along with a few tools, seats and a St. Andrew’s Cross. The other room was just a small lounge area with a couple couches, no beds. All the rooms were clean, and well taken care of, but our only complaint would be that we wished the VIP room had a better selection of snacks, food and drinks. The only thing they had available were some bags of chips, pastries and a veggie tray that looked like it had been sitting there a while. The bar and grill for the hotel was open for addition kitchen prepared food for an extra cost. Seeing that we were dressed up in our slutty swinger outfits, we didn’t feel comfortable being served by the vanilla wait staff or sitting for a full meal.
- The event also featured multiple attractions:Sensual tantric massage appointments. These were performed by both a male and female therapist, to be booked prior or beforehand.Sinfull Designs by Johnny Mack. If you know about Johnny Mack, you already know. The sensual body tape master was providing the ladies with the most amazing bikini tops and bottoms with tape only. Watching this guy perform, you realize it’s not just a gimmick. He is a real artist providing a full on sensual experience for the ladies. There was also a pro Domme experience in the BDSM room. Not many details were provided on the event page about this.
- La Dolce Vita is a great mix of high class, with down to earth community. The owners really make the effort to provide a great upscale experience, but at the same time the crowd is typically super down to earth, sexy and friendly.
- There seemed to be some confusion over VIP cabanas. There was no way to tell if a cabana was reserved or not, so we placed our stuff near an empty cabana only to be forced to move after a couple came shortly later to claim their area. Not a big deal, but there could have been something labeled if VIP guests paid extra for these amenities.
- Speaking of the crowd, the majority of attendees are probably 40+. There were a few couples that seemed younger, but you could tell they felt out of place and we even overheard some judgemental comments about the ages of people there. We almost interjected to say something to them, but figured it wasn’t worth the confrontation. There is absolutely no reason younger couples shouldn’t attend LDV. In fact, younger more inexperienced couples should want to meet a more mature, experienced crowd to learn the ropes.
- The entertainment was off the chain! The fire dancer provided a sexy, sensual kick off to the evening. We always appreciate the artistic appeal to LDV. They aren’t just providing a DJ, lights and beds like other parties we’ve been to. Speaking of the DJ, the party really started rocking due to the awesome DJ they had going in the restaurant and bar area.
We regret not being able to stay for the full takeover. (Friday night to Sunday morning) In fact, I’m not sure how many people actually are able to manage something like this unless you’re from out of town. We have kids, so there is no way we would be able to stay away that long. However, we’ve been to other hotel takeovers before and definitely recommend getting a room. We didn’t have one, so we needed to rely on invitations if we felt the mood strike. Also, having a room is great for taking a short break from the party and much better than having to drive home late at night after drinking.
La Dolce Vita gets 5 stars from us and is a must attend group when you’re in the Phoenix area or any other location they host events. They are currently taking registrations for a NYE 2024 Countdown take over on December 30-Jan 1. Two nights filled with music, entertainment, and nonstop fun. Make sure if you’re looking for something hot and sexy to do for NYE you take advantage of early bird pricing.
